SQUIRREL PREVENTION:

We do ground squirrel prevention now!
FLEAS
  • Contact us for interior and exterior treatment options.
  • Thoroughly vacuum the premises immediately before treatment and discard the vacuum bag outside in the trash. Pay special attention to pet resting areas.
  • Bedding is dry and clean, launder regularly.
  • Get rid of adult fleas on cats and dogs.
  • Get rid of flea eggs and flea larvae in the environment.
  • Use flea washes and flea dust powder.
  • Contact your veterinarian for appropriate flea control applications for your pets.
FLIES
  • Improve sanitation, dispose of garbage regularly, and ensure trash containers have tight fitting lids. Trash cans should be cleaned on a regular basis.
  • Dispose of animal waste daily; remove potential breeding sources.
  • Seal cracks, crevices, and entry points around the structure's perimeter.
  • Keep doors and windows closed; ensure screens are in good condition and fit tightly.
  • Install UV light traps, door strips and air doors where appropriate.
  • Clean floors and counters.
  • Hang fly traps or fly bait stations away from structures.
MOSQUITOES PREVENTION:
  • Call Aardvark for an inspection to treat in and around shrubs adjacent to the structure. Mosquito populations can be very dense in this environment.
  • Stagnant water provides prime breeding conditions for mosquitoes, so reduce these sights wherever possible, such as water that collects in clogged gutters, poorly maintained swimming pools, and rain water that collects in potted plants, trash cans, bird baths, discarded tires, watering containers and children's toys.
  • Ensure window screens are in good condition and fit tightly to prevent mosquitoes from entering the home.
  • Avoid going outside during the dawn and dusk hours.
  • Wear long sleeves and long pants if you are outside during these hours.
  • Use a mosquito repellent.
REPTILES: RATTLESNAKES, SNAKES & LIZARDS:
  • Call Aardvark if you have problems with rattlesnakes or any other reptile. We offer trapping, live removal, and exclusion.
  • San Diego County is home to four different species of rattlesnakes.
  • Rattlesnakes are most active at dusk when hunting for prey.
  • Unlike most reptiles, rattlesnakes give birth to live offspring. In some species, young rattlesnakes are more venomous than adults.
SCORPIONS & CENTIPEDES PREVENTION:
  • Scorpions feed on insects, so spray the outside of your home regularly.
  • Contact our office regarding our Residential Service.
  • Remove wood and rock piles near the structure to eliminate as much scorpion harborage as possible.
  • Landscape and surrounding vegetation should also be trimmed back or removed to expose as much soil as possible.
  • Clean up debris from around the structure.
  • Inside, keep storage boxes off the ground.
  • Scorpions & Centipedes like dark, damp places. Make sure that wet towels are picked up off the floor.
  • Ensure door thresholds are tight and windows have tight fitting screens. Contact Aardvark for an inspection and estimate on sealing off possible entry points.
SPIDERS PREVENTION:

Some spiders get a bad rap! Garden spiders are a beneficial insect and should not be targeted. Spiders that congregate under eaves outside are the ones Aardvark targets. We will knock down webs that can be reached under eves and patio covers.

Many spiders that come on to your property float in on parachute webs, landing on your roof top or over hanging tree’s. These spiders circumvent our pesticides and find their way into your home. When that happens we can help home owners that are on service with this problem.
  • Spiders are included in our Residential Program. Contact Aardvark for a quote.
  • Physically remove spider webs and egg sacs with a vacuum.
  • Remove clutter and debris wherever possible and keep wood piles away from the structure.
  • Seal cracks, crevices, and entry points around the structure.
  • Store boxes off the ground.
